OpenLearn explores 20th Century authors network

To complement the BBC / OU co-production In Their Own Words and the OU’s array of literature and creative writing courses, the OpenLearn team at OU has been busy joining the dots of the literary landscape of twentieth century Britain to give readers the chance to discover the connections between authors.

You can pick an author to reveal the surprisingly complex network of connections and relationships they had with their peers. Explore the love and the loathing they felt for each other, their shared genres and backgrounds and the passions and the occupations that drew them together.

Discover more by watching BBC Four’s In Their Own Words: British Novelists every Monday from 16 August at 9pm.
